The best time to go rafting on the Bhote Koshi River is during the dry season-from April to October. During these months, the weather is pretty good and the perfect water level makes it even more adventurous.
Spring Season:
Spring is the time of warmth and flowers, so it is equally suitable for rafting. The weather is usually fine, with proper flow in the rivers that will go well for both first-time and professional rafting. This season really brings super excitement into rafting but still manageable.
Summer Season:
This time is during the monsoon, resulting in heavier rains and greater heights of rivers. The rapid would get heavier and gives quite a thrill for the avid rafter, whereas it isn’t very well-suited for first-time beginners, because the unpredictability in the weather disrupts the travelling at this point.
Autumn Season:
Autumn presents clear skies with moderate temperatures; therefore, rafting is ideal. The water level in the river is at its best and the surroundings are brilliant post-monsoon. This season sees rafters who like to mix excitement with natural beauty.
Winter Season:
Winter brings in the cooler temperatures and although rafting can be done, it is not as comfortable due to the cold. The flow of the river is much smoother and hence the trip is more suited for those who want less of an adrenaline-filled adventure. Not all rafting operators offer rafting during this season.
That is to say, spring or autumn is the best time to go rafting down the Bhote Koshi River. This is because these are the seasons of the most favourable weather and water level which offers the right degree of rapids thrilling and safety.
