Overview of Shey Phoksundo Lake Trek
Shey Phoksundo Lake trek is moderate and adventurous trekking destination of remote Nepal just behind the Dhaulagiri massif and toward Tibetan Plateau. This trekking journey leads to the deepest lake “Shey Phoksundo” in Himalayan region which is hidden treasure of Nepal. The crystal water clearly explains the Shey-Phokusundo Lake is free from aquatic life. The path goes through ancient village, Nepal’s highest water fall “Suligad waterfall”, densely forest field with rhododendron, Bamboo, Pine etc along with pasture land, meadows and terraced field which is extremely rich in natural resources and culture heritage.

Shey Phoksundo national park is the home of many endangered and rare animal including Blue ship, Himalayan thar, snow leopard, Himalayan musk deer and many more. Shey phoksundo is an alpine frees Water Lake at the altitude of 3611.5 m above sea level in dolpa district with the area of 4.94 km sq with 409,000,000 cubic meter of water. There are many more monasteries at ringmo in southern belt and own gumba in eastern side of the lake through which Tibetan culture is influence. This lake has religious important so many pilgrimages visited this lake to have a holy bath. Near the lake thasang gumpa was built about 900 years ago. The view of the lake is mesmerizing which make this trip memorable throughout the life.
