Koshi tappu Bird watching wild life tour is famous for bird watching and jungle activity in Nepal. It is the visit of paradise of Terai region of eastern Nepal with the surface area of 175km square of wetlands around Koshi River. This region is the protected area in eastern part of Nepal in Sunsari, Saptari and Udayapur districts. The main objective for the establishment of this wildlife reserves is for the conservation of rare flora and fauna for protection of nature and was established in 1976 A.D and designated as a Ramsar site in December 17, 1987 A.D.

Koshi tappu wildlife region has mixed deciduous vegetation’s where 68 percentage of land is coverage with grassland and 6 percentage is forested and remaining wet lands. Especially this region is for the protection of wild water buffalo and wild boar .This region is rich in biodiversity where this region is the habitat of 200 species of fish, 2 species of toad, 6 species lizard, five species snakes, 11 species of turtle, some gharial and crocodile.

Day 1: Early morning fly from Kathmandu to Biratnagar and drive to koshi tappu wild life reserve. Overnight at hotel.

Welcome to Koshitappu wildlife reserve. After arriving in Biratnagar, the journey to Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve takes a two-hour drive via the picturesque fields and villages and stops at the visitor center.

At the information center, you may learn more about the wildlife that inhabits the area and views the animals’ preserved bones. Continue your independent exploration and birdwatching throughout the day.

The reserve is one of Nepal’s wintering grounds for birds from Siberia, China, and Mongolia. One of the major attractions of this small protected area is the winter migration of these birds.
